Frequently asked questions

Do you offer a free trial?
Yes — a 14-day free trial is available and can be cancelled at any time from your console. During the trial you get access to two weeks of rolling historical data.
What data does each plan include?
All plans include 150+ spot and perpetual indices and full options and futures data on BTC and ETH — implied volatility surfaces, realized volatility, Greeks, IV indices, and funding rates. Optional add-ons extend coverage with calibrated volatility surfaces for any token across crypto and real-world assets — our models let us construct a surface for any listed or synthetic underlying on request. Institutional adds real-world asset data by default: equities, FX, and commodities.
What's the difference between REST API and WebSocket access?
REST is for request-response queries — pulling historical data, on-demand volatility surface points, mark prices, Greeks, and many more derived fields. WebSocket delivers the same data streamed live: ATM volatility, strike / delta / moneyness IVs, mark prices, forward curves, and settlement prices. WebSocket is included on Prime and Institutional; Core is REST-only.
How do exchange and MCP add-ons bill?
Add-ons bill at the same interval as the plan you pick. If you subscribe to Prime quarterly and add Deribit, both are billed quarterly in one charge. Add-ons can be added or removed from your console at any time; pro-ration is handled automatically by Stripe.
Can I use this data to power on-chain or DeFi oracles?
Yes — we power 90% of on-chain options volume and supply perpetuals data to leading DEXs today. Prime includes our Pull Oracle with EIP-712 signatures for trustless on-chain use; Institutional adds the Push Oracle for co-located, low-latency settlement feeds. Data licensed for your own application or oracle only — redistribution, resale, or re-surfacing of Block Scholes data to third parties is not permitted. See the terms and conditions at https://www.blockscholes.com/legal/terms-conditions for full guidance.
Can AI agents use this data via MCP?
Yes — the MCP Server Access add-on enables Claude, ChatGPT, and custom AI agents to query Block Scholes data natively via Model Context Protocol. Includes the Strategy Backtester tool. Available as an add-on on Core and Prime; Institutional includes it by default.
Can I cancel or change my plan anytime?
Yes. All plans are month-to-month, quarter-to-quarter, or annual depending on the interval you choose. Cancel from your billing console or contact support — you keep access until the end of the current period, no lock-in.
